One in twelve men misreads colour-coded information. Most will never tell you.

The Colour-Inclusive Institute finds where your organization depends on colour alone and fixes it. You keep talent, cut costly misreads, and build materials that work for everyone who uses them.

Founded by Anthea Mumby, a colour-blind leader with 45 years in business.

Where colour dependence costs you

Most organizations never see this problem, because the people it affects have learned to work around it.

Dashboards and reports. Red, amber and green status that a colour-blind analyst or executive reads slowly, reads wrong, or skips. Decisions get made on a partial picture.

Safety and operational cues. Alerts, wayfinding, labels and equipment where colour carries the warning. When the signal is colour alone, the risk is real.

Customer materials. Proposals, charts, forms and web pages that lose the reader halfway through. The client rarely tells you why they stopped responding.

People rarely raise it. They compensate, slow down and work around you. Some of them leave.

Colour vision deficiency affects up to 1 in 12 men and 1 in 200 women. Source: GOV.UK Design 102.

A modular program. Start where it counts.

Phase 1 · Diagnostic

The Colour Blind Spot Check

A structured review of where your organization depends on colour alone: dashboards, reports, wayfinding, safety cues, onboarding, brand and customer materials.

You get: a clear map of your highest-risk points and what they are costing you.

Phase 2 · Working session

Leading in Colour

A working session for leaders and design or operations teams. Not awareness theatre.

You get: people who can spot colour dependence, apply the never-colour-alone standard, and make better calls without a specialist in the room.

Phase 3 · Advisory

Embed and Sustain

Ongoing guidance as you rework your highest-risk systems and set an internal standard.

You get: colour-inclusive thinking built into how you design, scoped to what you need and nothing you don't.

How we work together

You begin with the diagnostic, add the working session, and continue into advisory as far as it serves you. Senior-led, low disruption, with clear deliverables at every phase.

Led by someone who lives it

I have two forms of colour vision deficiency, one in each eye. I have spent my career inside systems built on the assumption that I saw what everyone else did, and I know exactly where they break.

The Institute turns that lived experience into practical standards your teams can use. This is not theory borrowed from a manual. It is tested, specific, and built to leave capability behind, not dependence.
